The main factors behind the price

Two floors with the same area can require different amounts of work. An old coating, contaminated concrete, moisture concerns or extensive repairs can change preparation. The coating build and finish then add their own requirements. Include all relevant conditions when asking for an estimate so a headline price does not become a misleading comparison.

  • Measured floor area, layout, edges and access.
  • Old-coating removal, mechanical preparation and repairs.
  • Proposed primer, coating layers, decorative finish and topcoat.
  • Installation stages, return visits and regional travel.

Compare total scope before comparing a square-metre rate

Ask what each quote includes and what could be charged separately. Check preparation, crack or joint treatment, coating layers, finish, waste removal and any work around fixed items. Confirm GST treatment, travel and access assumptions. A lower rate may cover a different build or exclude necessary work, so compare the written inclusions before choosing on price alone.

FLOOR FINISH IDEAS

Different spaces. A considered finish.

Explore the appearance, then discuss the available finish, samples and complete coating system for your floor.

Allow for the time the floor is unavailable

Garage storage, alternative parking and commercial shutdowns can affect your overall project budget. Curing and return-to-use periods are system-specific and depend on conditions. As one manufacturer example, Sika publishes different curing times by temperature and notes moisture, humidity and sunlight considerations. That illustrates why the actual selected system needs its own instructions; it does not identify the product Pro Painting will use.

Send the information needed for a useful quote

Provide your suburb or town, approximate dimensions, photos of the floor and problem areas, current use and preferred timing. Mention old coatings, dampness, oil, cracks and restricted access. A finish preference is helpful but optional. An initial discussion can establish what needs closer assessment before the final scope and price are agreed.

Your questions, answered

Do you publish a fixed epoxy flooring price per square metre?

No. Floor condition, preparation, coating build and access vary. A project-specific quote gives a clearer total and identifies the work included.

Does a double garage always cost the same?

No. Garages differ in size, slab condition, existing coatings and finish requirements. Share dimensions and photos so the actual scope can be assessed.

How are regional Victorian travel costs handled?

Provide the town, area and project requirements. Any agreed travel or scheduling requirements should be made clear in the quote before you commit.
